SUMMER BUCKET LIST for kids to bypass Behaviours & Boredom

A SUMMER BUCKET LIST is a perfect way to sail into summer smoothly! It’s a terrific opportunity to get kids involved in planning what they want to do and what they are expected to do this upcoming summer season! Many Parents find it difficult to create structure when their kids are at home and no longer in school. A summer schedule is a great way for easing the stress, anxiety and reactive outbursts from both children and Parents!

The SUMMER BUCKET LIST can be blended into the summer schedule. Getting the kids involved in creating the list may really help them to take ownership of the project. Try offering poster paper, felts, old magazines, glue and other assorted craft materials to really enhance the experience. This can be done individually or together as a family, a few weeks prior to or during the first few days of summer break.

Have a discussion about what everyone would like to see happen, the time frame, cost and other essential factors. From there, go through each one and choose the top ideas to add to the official list (that are appropriate and safe of course). If there are younger children, perhaps help them by offering a few options for them to choose so they too feel like a participating member.
