Taking time for YOU can seem more like a chore than a luxury as the crazy-filled schedules don't seem to allow for wiggle room. However, it is well known that investing on YOU helps everyone around you. Try to schedule time for yourself in the week. Start with as much time as you can and then build up.
Here are some quick ways to develop the relationship you have with yourself in a quick little increments through out the day to start....
1.) DEEP BREATHS - sounds easy but can be easily forgotten. Even 3-5 breaths can help soothe yourself
2.) SHOW AFFECTION - give yourself a hug, pat on the back or thumbs up through out the day
3.) REQUEST TIME - ask your family members for just a few minutes when deciding something. It's not a yes. It's not a no. Just ask for a few minutes to think about it.
4.) SELF TALK - looking into the mirror and saying to yourself how great you are for just being you is very difficult, scary and uncomfortable for many people. However, this is the #1 way to build your own self esteem and self worth.
