Put a jar/basket of snacks in an easy-to-reach area of the kitchen. Fill it with healthy & light snacks like crackers, dried fruit, nuts etc... for kids to help themselves to after school until dinner. This can help decrease the constant requests for food, questions regarding the timing of dinner & whinning about hunger. If you set it up & discuss that this is 'all there is till dinner', it can help curb the begging for more food and unhealthy snacks. Kids can take as much as they need to get through till dinner time and if they are really hungry, they'll eat it. This can help encourage your children to be more independent as well as to ease up things for you. Good luck!
